چکیده
Horwich (Mind 123(491), 2014) has argued that only someone with inflationary tendencies could feel inclined to endorse truth relativism. In doing so, he argues deflationism about entails the denial of If sound, Horwich’s argument entail relativism is incompatible any conception our ordinary predicate according which there some sort equivalence between a ground-language claim p and corresponding true. Arguably, story relativist might give predicate, it should such equivalence. Hence, problem for needs be addressed.

Relativism, Assertion and Deflationary Truth∗
We provide a deflationarily acceptable account of assertion in truth-relativistic domains. First, we state what we take relativism and deflationism to be. Second, we clarify the problem of assertion in relativistic domains by singling out the features that make assertion within those domains problematic. Then, we tackle the problem directly by generalizing a standard deflationary account of the...

There are two reasons why such talk, in stand...
متن کاملFuture Contingents and Relative Truth
If it is not now determined whether there will be a sea battle tomorrow, can an assertion that there will be one be true? The problem has persisted because there are compelling arguments on both sides. If there are objectively possible futures which would make the prediction true and others which would make it false, symmetry considerations seem to forbid counting it either true or false. Yet i...

Both legal systems have the...
